Our Requirements

We welcome all candidates who meet or exceed the following requirements to apply for consideration for any of our Chapter-based positions:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional, verifiable experience in your chosen field
  • Proven track record in your field (commitment to a few long-term positions)
  • Positive professional and personal references
  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willing to renew prior to hire)
  • At least 18 years old and a high school graduate (4-year degree preferred)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

ARE FAMILIES SCREENED, TOO?

Yes, at Nanny Source, we conduct a thorough screening process for families as well. We believe in providing the best possible matches for both our candidates and families. Families are pre-screened over the phone, complete a detailed family application, and have an in-depth consultation with one of our consultants. This comprehensive screening process allows us to understand their specific needs and expectations, ensuring that we can make successful and lasting placements that benefit both parties.

DO YOU TAKE A CUT OF MY PAY?

Nanny Source operates as a traditional staffing agency, where the fee is paid by the client (the family) when they hire an employee (that's you) through the agency. This fee is separate from the employees wage and does not impact their compensation. In essence, the service provided by Nanny Source is indeed free for job seekers, with no hidden fees or gimmicks involved.

EMPLOYEE OR I-9?

The IRS generally classifies in-home staff, including nannies, as household employees, regardless of how the job is found (through an agency, referral, online, etc.). When you accept a long-term position through Nanny Source, you will be paid as an employee of the family, adhering to professional and legal standards. It's essential to prioritize legal employment arrangements because taking cash payments can lead to issues for both nannies and families, including tax and legal complications. Trusting in the legal employment process ensures fair treatment, benefits, and proper tax withholding for everyone involved.
